What’s up with ready Player one? I actually had a German English teacher tell me it was a good book and I should read it a few years ago. Are they turning it into a film or what?

ready player one is 80s References: The Novel. it’s like if the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny got made into a book. there is a huge paragraph on how masturbation is wonderful that just happens out of nowhere.

basically the author just makes the main character fulfill his fantasies of meeting a hot gamer gurl and like, he projects himself onto two mary sue characters. japanese culture is fetishized. also he says anything japanese phonetically. it’s very bizarre. he uses seppuku as a stand in for the word suicide, because they’re the exact same thing.

the novel is just about a l33t gamer hacker living out his gamer fantasies and being the ultimate hero. that’s all it is.
