mail doesn’t stop a bullet
all it does is weigh you down which severely increases your chance of being hit by a bullet
even if it stops the bullet it doesn’t stop the force of the bullet and that’s going to hurt you more than if it lodged in you because your entire torso or arm or w/e will absorb the force instead of one area of your body
and so you will get a shit ton of internal bleeding, broken bones, etc. and probably die of shock
so in summation chainmail sucks and soldiers shouldn’t wear it because it’s no longer 1542
