au where stanley was pushed in to the portal instead of stanford
stanford continued on his research in gravity falls, keeping the first journal but leaving the other 2 hidden. he couldn’t bring himself to dismantle the portal knowing stanley was in there, but couldn’t risk the destruction of the universe to power it up and bring him back. he spends 30 years indecisive about if he should save him or try to forget. against his best judgement he agrees to let dipper and mabel stay for the summer, even though the “mystery shack” is still just his house and research lab.
seeing them together convinces him that he should save stanley. as he starts up the portal, his conviction wavers, still worried that the portal would tear the universe apart. but events similar to nwhs causes dipper and mabel to loose faith in ford and they come across the portal themselves and unwittingly perform the last events to open the portal and bring them back. stanford tries to stop them, convinced it will bring the end of the world, but the twins do not press the emergency power down button and stanley exits the portal.
first he’s happy to see stanford again and happy to be out of the portal, until he quickly realizes that ford is not the reason he’s back, and becomes furious believing that his brother didn’t even try to save him
Gravity Falls theory: in like eleven months there’s going to be a Huge Announcement that journals 1 and 2 are being produced, but they’re super limited edition
There will be ten copies of journal 2, buried near various elementary schools in Oregon.
And the only way to obtain journal 1 is by fighting Alex Hirsch in a denny’s parking lot
If you’re watching this, then you are one of eight people in these United States with clearance to view this information. In fact, I myself will be shot as soon as the filming is complete. —What, no? Huh! Oh, well! That’s a relief.
Here’s the first part of my week 2 Stanuary comic. Please be gentle (´;ω;`), I’ve never made anything like this before. I don’t usually make comics and when I do they’re very simple, so something like this is different from what I’m used to.
I imagine Stan would act rather flippant about Filbrick hitting him, for a variety of reasons. Ford however would not let it go so easily. Plus I think Stanley would still have some memory issues for a while after and thus wouldn’t be as careful with what he admits about himself.
I want to specify that I would never fault Ford for not noticing. He was a child, and that sort of thing is easy to miss. Ford however would blame himself anyway.
And there it is! This was my first time doing anything like this and honestly not only was it lots of fun, but the response was amazing! I was really surprised at how much people liked it. It’s a little late unfortunately, but that’s what I get for taking on something this big haha.
I wanted to take on this topic for week two because for a long time Stanley didn’t have anyone he could look to to protect him. The authority figures in his life treated him like garbage, and no one ever spoke on his behalf or intervened. Not even when his teacher bad mouthed him directly to his family’s face. The fact that a teacher could speak about him that way to his parents without any hesitation is horrifying. It’s no wonder Stanley has self esteem issues.
I went with the idea of using the tattoo because Ford would essentially be taking a scar that represents a particularly painful memory in their history, and turning it into a symbol of protection and family, mimicking their relationship in the show. You can’t erase the scars of your past, but you can change how you view them.
I’m thinking I might start doing more comics in the future, since I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. Thank you very much for reading my comic!
