Let’s be honest: You’re screwed if you’re the left guy.

nah let’s be honest: the damage for sniper’s arrows ranges from 50-120, while hanzo’s is 29-120. Hanzo can technically shoot his arrows faster, but at the cost of a much shorter range. We’ve seen that sniper prefers to operate at extreme distances, and judging by gameplay his arrows have much greater range (see: ctf_2fooooooooooooooooort). And, moving past strictly technical aspects, we’ve seen Sniper to have the mindset of a cold and efficient killer, while Hanzo can get distracted by his own rage and personal unrest. Remember, Sniper was brought back from the dead and was immediately capable of putting up a fight.

Hanzo would be wise to fear Mr. Mundy.

Mundy throws piss at people and has a knife, Mundy wins

ya – Hanzo might know karate, but sniper knows Jarate… wins every time

Hanzo is a baby bitch boy from a baby bitch boy game.

i dont like getting in to overwatch discourse but i love making fun of blizzard’s inept writing so i’m gonna do it anyway

the way blizzard keeps trying to push omnics in overwatch as an allegory for racism is one of the most poorly handled things i’ve ever seen to the point that it’s almost comedic

the game’s narrative (what little there is) wants you to think people who hate omnics are irrational and hokey and “not with the times,” right. wake up grandma, it’s 2057. that sort of thing.

but blizzard themselves have since done the following:

  • established that the omnic crisis was like only 20 years ago, so everyone over the age of like 25 has concrete memories of “the time robots almost destroyed the entire planet”
  • established that the omnic crisis was a global conflict that brought humanity to the brink of extinction, literally every single human alive at the time was affected by it
  • established that nobody really knows why the omnics stopped attacking, not even the omnics themselves
  • established in Pharah’s comic that peaceful omnics are very easily hacked by both malicious humans and omnics alike, so literally every omnic has the potential to have their sapience wrested away from them to be turned back in to a mindless killing machine in an instant
  • put a game mode in the game that takes place during the omnic crisis where you just go ahead and kill as many omnics as you can

like, blizzard have never been good writers, but jesus christ. this is some next-level incompetence. the fact that people are obsessed with the lore in this world and get REALLY in to the nitty-gritty of it astounds me. you take a single step backwards and look at it from a distance and it all falls apart.

like, if you like overwatch, fine, but people write essays as long as their arms about the lore of a world that’s this badly written and i just do not understand it. just play the tf2 game. laugh when d.va says oppa gangnam style. blizzard did not put even a fraction of a fraction of the amount of thought in to the game that some of the fans put in to their fantheories.

basically what i’m saying, in the least chill way possible, is “chill.”

YOU’RE RIGHT I ABSOLUTELY FORGOT THAT’S WHAT YOU’RE DOING ON KING’S ROW

HOLY FUCK

i want to ignore overwatch but every time it makes the news it’s always unavoidable and the thing that happened is always ridiculous

like how am i not supposed to react to “blizzard accidentally made mcree 100 years old because they’re so bad at writing and also they released a character that suffers from Blizzard Sameface so hard that everyone thought she was a cowboy themed Mercy skin.”

fatdemoman:

thok-ast-thok:

honestly the “overwatch as futuristic WWE” theory explains so much about the game:

  • the implausible backstories
  • the stage names
  • the exaggerated personae
  • how nobody’s origin story actually seems to impact who they fight
  • the highly specific and long-running rivalries
  • the nonsensical timeline
  • how half the cast has “died” and then come back
  • how it’s never clear what anyone’s actually fighting for

and nothing blizzard does in-universe can disprove it because it’s all part of the narrative

blizzard really should have worked to get their character shorts out faster before their abysmal writing and source filmmaker made it impossible to take any of their characters seriously

dva is like the one character in overwatch that is physically impossible to take seriously. she says oppa gangnam style and epic win. you cant make her meka blowing up seem dramatic. it doesnt work. you are at odds with your own video game here trying to make things seem dramatic when the game is so objectively goofy.

its like they made a reaper short that tries to paint him as genuinely tragic and not a massive goofball edgelord that likes to dress in silly skeleton costumes.

i dont see how bliz ripped off everything from tf2 that worked EXCEPT for the tone. like. the one thing that makes tf2 worth coming back to even if only for the comics and shorts. i dont think people would give even a quarter of a shit about the heavy if they tried to give him pathos. hes just a big man that like to kill things and he yells a lot. the soldier likes to get naked and wrestle the heavy’s hot buff sister.

dva is a joke character. shes a joke about twitch streamers. dont try to give her melodrama. its too late. its been two years. all the people trying to take overwatch’s lore seriously left and started photoshopping kpop boys in to cows. you’re not gonna turn dva in to the next bastion short, people only liked the bastion short because you ripped off The Iron Giant beat for beat. its not gonna work.
